Top 10 Lunch Date Tips: Items You Should Keep In Your Purse At All Times

Lunch date fashion tipsEver find yourself in a situation where the cute guy from work asks you out on a lunch date? The one guy you’ve been eyeing for quite some time in the hopes of him noticing you. You may have had a few words by the watercooler; nothing too personal with a hint of flirtation? The truth is, lunch dates can happen to anyone on any specific day. The key to success is being prepared for them at all times. Taking into consideration that you’re going to go straights from work to meet Prince Charming, there are a few essential items you need to keep in your purse at all times.

Never leave home without the following 10 essential items for lunch date success:

  1. Dental floss

You may have some leftover breakfast stuck between your teeth that simply won’t do when going on a lunch date. What better way to get rid of any unwanted residue than by using a little bit of floss. Taking into consideration that you should floss every day anyway, it’s always a great idea to have a roll of dental floss at home along with a separate roll in your purse; just for in case. It takes up very little space and can save your behind from a very embarrassing lunch date encounter.

  1. Sunglasses

You never know if the date will take place indoors or outside at a local park, so you should always at all times pack a pair of stylish sunglasses just fro in case. Who knows, you may have had a rough night’s sleep the evening prior, in which case you’re going to want to cover up those bags with dark sunglasses. It always helps to add a bit of style to your work outfit as well.

  1. Lip balm

This is a particularly important item to have in your purse at all times; especially during the harsh winter months. The more you lick your lips due to dryness, the more you’re going to struggle with them being dry and cracked. Remember, a man who’s interested in you will almost certainly look at your lips from time to time. In that case, it’s always helpful to have moisturized, plump lips instead those dry, cracked ones none of us enjoy having. Choose an all-natural beeswax lip balm if possible to ensure your lips receive the necessary moisturization and nutrients they need.

  1. Mouthwash

It’s extremely tempting to add gum to your purse, however, the last thing you want is to be chewing away when you’re on your very special lunch date with Prince Charming. Not only is it rude, it’s also extremely distracting. Instead, always keep a travel size mouthwash in your purse in order to achieve fresh breath before your big lunch date whilst protecting your gums at the same time. It doesn’t take up much space and you won’t be stuck having to swallow anything you don’t necessarily want to.

  1. Scarf

The weather can turn on a whim, which is why it’s always important to have a scarf in your purse; preferably a color that matches just about any outfit. Scarves can usually be rolled up into a little ball, taking up very little space in your purse whilst giving you the option to change up your look especially for your lunch date. Go on, give it a try. What to you have to lose?

  1. Wet wipes

It’s always a great idea to have a small pack of wet wipes in your purse; regardless of whether you have a date or not. As much as we’d like for makeup to be smudge proof or to never have a spill of some sort, accidents do happen from time to time. The best way to do damage control is by always being prepared with a few wet wipes to take care of the problem.

  1. Perfume

You simply can’t afford not to smell good! Since it’s one of those things that attract a man to a woman, perfume is your best weapon to turn a simple lunch date into a romantic dinner. You want to make sure he remembers you according to how good you smell when you enter and leave the restaurant, so never mix and match your perfume. Always choose the same brand you chose early in the morning in order to experience the full effect; instead of a combination of smells that may not complement each other.

  1. Moisturizer

Dry skin happens to all of us. It’s always a great idea to have a little bit of moisturizer in your purse in order to soften up your hands. You never know if or when he’s going to want to touch your hand, in which case you certainly want to ensure that what he’s touching is quite soft and moisturized.

  1. Allergy medication

Never be caught off guard with pesky allergies! They do strike when you least expect them; especially when there’s a change in season. So always pack non-drowsy allergy medication that can be taken at any point during the work day without feeling as if you’re going to fall asleep at lunch. Besides, there’s probably nothing worse than having to pretend that everything’s fine when in fact your eyes can’t stop watering and your sneezing starts getting out of hand. Save yourself the embarrassment.

  1. Eye drops

It can happen to anyone; having dry eyes for whatever reason. It may be that there’s very little humidity in the atmosphere on that particular day – leaving your eyes quite sensitive, dry and possibly even red. Avoid having him wonder if there’s anything seriously wrong with you by always packing some eye drops in your purse. It takes up practically zero space and can be quite a lifesaver for times when he wants to look deep into your eyes.

Bonus: Credit card

You never know if he’s going to turn out to be a smoocher. Always be prepared to pay your own way (even if he asked you out) by ensuring you have your credit card nearby. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.

The last thing you want is being caught off guard. You want to ensure that you’re in control at all times by; whether it’s a lunch date with the guy from the office or a cute stranger you met on your way to work. The great thing about going on a lunch date is the fact that you can end it after 45 minutes (if it was a below-average experience) or continue where you left off with a romantic dinner. No pressure.
